Information on burning in
This cast iron pot from BBQ-Toro is already seasoned and ready to use. If re-seasoning is necessary after cleaning, simply clean the pot with hot water. Then rub it with a neutral-tasting vegetable oil (e.g., coconut oil). Place the pot upside down in the oven at 200°C (or better yet, in a hot charcoal grill) for one hour. Rub in any remaining oil. That's it! Repeat this process regularly to fill the pores and ensure optimal rust protection.

Information on cleaning/maintenance
Hot water is sufficient for cleaning – scrub off larger food residues with a brush. Never use soap or harsh detergents. These will destroy the seasoning layer, and the pot will then need to be re-seasoned (see above). Do not store leftover food in the roaster. Remove ash from the lid and pot immediately after use, as it promotes rust when combined with moisture.

Information on storage
Grease with good cooking oil, place a sheet of kitchen paper inside, and leave the lid slightly ajar. This way, the roasting pan will easily withstand even longer storage periods.
