Information on burning in
This cast iron muffin pan from BBQ-Toro is pre-seasoned and ready to use. If re-seasoning is necessary, clean the pan with hot water. Then rub it with neutral-tasting vegetable oil (e.g., coconut oil). Place the pan upside down in the oven at 200°C (or better yet, in a hot charcoal grill) for one hour. Rub in any remaining oil. That's it! Repeat this process regularly to fill the pores and optimally protect the muffin pan from rust.

Information on cleaning/maintenance
Hot water is sufficient for cleaning – scrub off larger food residues with a brush. Never use soap or harsh detergents. These will destroy the seasoning layer, and the muffin tin will then need to be re-seasoned (see above). Do not store food scraps in the tin. Remove ash immediately after use, as it can otherwise promote rust when combined with moisture.

Information on storage
Grease with good cooking oil and place in kitchen paper. This way, the muffin tin will easily withstand longer storage times.

Always use the skillet on a suitable heat source and be aware that it will become very hot when heated. To protect against burns, use heat-resistant gloves or oven mitts when handling the skillet. Ensure that children cannot touch the hot skillet. Do not use the skillet in a microwave. Allow the hot skillet to cool completely before cleaning to prevent damage and cracking. Clean it by hand only and dry it thoroughly to prevent rust.
